Bariga Boys Repel attack by One Million Boys in Lagos State




Bariga residents resist the broad day robbery by one million boys. One million boys has been a threat to all Lagos residents ever since the beginning of the lockdown imposed by the government to prevent the spread of Covid-19.

One Million Boys is the code-name of a robberygang known for its notorious robbery activities around Lagos and its surroundings. Originally formed in Ajegunle by a group of about 20 boys with the objective of "fighting perceived injustice in the city", however, some members of the group hijacked the group into being involved in robbery activities, rape and maiming. A movie titled 1 Million Boyz was released in 2014 based on their thefts and activities. On October 9, 2012, about 130 suspected members of the group were arrested by the Lagos State Police Command during a raid around Apapa and Ajegunle.



Bariga is a district and suburb in Lagos State, Nigeria. It was formerly under Somolu local government area of Lagos State before it was upgraded by the State government as a Local Council Development Area in 2013. The local government secretariat is located at 19, Bawala street, Bariga.



Bariga boys had prepared for the attack by the robbery gang tagged one million boys before today due to the lack of trust in the state security agencies. Several robbery attack made by the robbery gang has made many landlords and tenant neglect their beds and pillow during the night to save guard their own life's and properties.
