In an announcement, the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Publicity, Garba Shehu, affirmed that Mato kicked the bucket on Tuesday following three years of battling with diabetes.
He said the military official had been working with President Buhari for a long time before he won the political decision in 2015.
Grieving the military official, the President depicted him as an "extremely careful, reliable and trustworthy warrior who completed his obligation with constancy and core interest".
He asked that Allah would facilitate Mato's entry to heaven and award his family, just as the administration and individuals of Jigawa State the guts to hold up under the misfortune.
