Buhari Sacks NEMA DG, Picks Another

The leader of Nigeria, President Buhari has sacked the Director-General, National Emergency Management Agency, NEMA, Engr. Mustapha Maihaja and selected a substitution. 

The new NEMA Director-General is Air Vice Marshal Muhammadu Alhaji Muhammed (Rtd). 


An announcement gave by the Director of Information in the Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (OSGF), Willie Bassey, on Saturday, said Buhari had affirmed the arrangement of AVM Muhammadu Alhaji Muhammed (Rtd.) as the new Director-General of NEMA. 

"This arrangement produced results from Thursday, 30th April 2020, for an underlying time of 4 years as per Section 3 of the National Emergency Management Agency Act. 



"The past Director-General, Engr. Mustapha Y. Maihaja has been coordinated to handover every single authority matter to AVM Muhammadu Alhaji Muhammed (Rtd.) quickly," the announcement said. 

As per the Statement, the President expressed gratitude toward the out-gone Director-General for his administrations and charged the new representative to serve.
