Buhari's is not Bias with Appointments By Region despite Claims as show by this Infographic realised by FG
The federal government has released infographic showing President Muhammadu Buhari's appoinments by regions following allegations of bone-deep religious, ethnic and regional bias.
The latest of such allegations came from Umar Dangiwa, a retired colonel and former military administrator of Kaduna, who penned a rather fierce open letter to President Muhammadu Buhari.
In the letter titled "Mr President, please belong to all of us", Umar offered a stark assessment of the Buhari's five years in office and warned that Nigeria is teetering on the edge of crisis as the country has become ''dangerously polarized due to Buhari’s lopsided appointments.''
Dangiwa flayed the President, citing the case of the acting appeal court president whose appointment has not been confirmed.
Buhari had extended the protem appointment of Monica Dongban-Mensem, who is a Christian, as the president of the court of appeal without formalising her position as substantive head of the appellate court.
The President has not sent her name to the senate for the confirmation of her appointment.
This has raised questions regarding the reasons behind the decision of the President.
Dangiwa who served as military governor of Kaduna between 1985 and 1988 under the regime of Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida, implored Buhari to emulate some past Nigerian leaders who showed great statesmanship.
However following the controversy generated by Dangiwa's letter, statiscal representations of President Buhari's appointees were released by the President's social media aide, Bashir Lawal.
While most of the president's appointees came from the South-West, the South-East got the least political appointment.
In total, the South got 54.2% of the administration's appointments while the North cleared 45.8%.
