A lot of people never believe that Nigeria made some military weapons in other to enhance the security system of the state.

Nigeria has begun this task of manufacturing some weapons as far back since early of 1960s, following the establishment of Defence Industries Corporation Of Nigeria (DICON) in 1964.Besides, lots of factors have fuelled the decision of Nigerian government in manufacturing of weapons, and among them are weapon embergos that were one time placed on Nigeria by the European Union and America for violations of human rights by the Nigerian government.And also, the Nigerian civil war which forced the Biafran fighters fighters to build some homemade weapons i.e ogbunigwe rockets that decimated about 6000 Nigerian soldiers, after the civil war, Nigerian government explored the manufacturing of weapons on Baifran fighters.

1. IED DEFUSING BOMB.

2. Igirigi armoured vehicle.

This is one of the ingenious productions by the Defence industries Corporation Of Nigeria (DICON).It was at the inauguration of the armoured vehicle and some more that Lt. Tukur Buratai made it known that before 2030 Nigeria would be exporting some military weapons to other African countries.

3. STAR Tiltrotor.


This is one of of the unbelievable weapons that was made in Nigeria.The Star Tiltrotor is used for aerial surveillance, it can fly five kilometers up high and attached with 250kg drop bomb.

4. Innoson patrol vehicle.


It is already known that Innoson is popular for manufacturing of vehicles in Nigeria.Recently, the indigenous company has augmented it's effort in the production of military vehicles.

5. Amebo unmanned aeriel drone.


This Nigeria homade drone is mostly used in training in drone operator in Nigeria.

6. INFANTRY PATROL VEHICLE IPV




This vehicle is one of the initiatives of Nigerian Army Engineer Corp.The IPV vehicle is used in combatting terrorism in the desert of North Eastern part of Nigeria.Its major advantages are high-speed mobility and overcoming of obstacles that any vehicle may encounter in the desert.

7. Proforce Ara 2 or Pro Ara 2.

This military vehicle was unveiled during the Nigerian Army celebration day on July 6 at the military cantonment in Ikeja, Lagos.
