COVID-19: Chinese Government explains why Nigerians were Maltreated in China



Reports recently emerged claiming that Nigerians are been maltreated badly in China amid the Coronavirus pandemic, but the Chinese government has declined such claims.

According to The Daily Express, Chinese Ambassador to Nigeria Zhou Pingjian, explained that the strict measures imposed on Nigerians was for their good, as the Nigerian citizens were more vulnerable to the virus in China. He said this during a media briefing in Abuja on Tuesday.

He said that China has no plans in discriminatory attitude towards Nigerians nor Africans.

He also added that the current Coronavirus statistics in the city of Guangzhou, China reads that Nigerians and some Africans were more exposed to the virus.

According to reports, some group of Nigerians that boarded a flight to Guangzhou were tested positive to Coronavirus, including a lady that owned a restaurant in Guangzhou.

Reports added that most Nigerians who tested positive were neglecting self-isolation, which resulted the Guangzhou authorities imposing strict discipline on them.
