Security Leak: Governors Phone Hacked By Hungry Fraudsters Amid Coronavirus
Senator Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi's telephone has been hacked by presumed fraudsters.
The state's data chief Chidi Aroh said on Thursday April 16, that the Governor's telephone was hacked and used to call individuals from the general population including Government Officials.
The Enugu State Government which communicated lament over the turn of events, said Security Agencies and the Telecom Service Providers have been appropriately informed and are working nonstop to catch the offenders.
The announcement peruses, "It has gone to the information on Enugu State Government that the MTN Cell Phone Line of His Excellency, the Governor of Enugu State was hacked by obscure fraudsters today, and has been utilized to call individuals from people in general including Government Officials.
"Enugu State Government thusly educates the individuals regarding people in general of this awful occurrence and urges them to dismiss any call or message radiating from the said Phone Line.
"The Security Agencies and the Telecom Service Providers have been appropriately advised and are working nonstop to catch the guilty parties.
"We most genuinely lament any humiliation or burden that these fraudsters may have caused clueless individuals from the general population."
