Cross River State Security turned back another truck loaded with. suspected almajiris at the Gakem CR/Benue border.


After the usual routine of Gakem and Tsar border patrol at about 3am Saturday 9th May 2020, Patriot (Dr) Okweche Dominic Odey was called by his officers and men at 9:30am with a report that security personnel stationed at the border had apprehended a truck loaded with humans of middle age suspected to be almajiris.


Okweche drove in Friday 8th May 2020 from Calabar after intensive radio interviews he embarked upon on FAD 93.1 and CORRECT 97.3 FM respectively, on progress made so far as well as sensitized the general public and reiterated government approach that has continued to keep the state free of COVID-19.



In a swift reaction, the Hon Commissioner For Youths And Skills Acquisition, Signo Omang Idiege assessed the suspects and turned them back.

Idiege charged officers to adhere strictly to His Excellency's directives of ensuring that the state remains coronavirus free. Idiege further told border securities that the Digital Governor appreciates their contribution in keeping the state free from the dreaded virus. He also hinted that the Governor is taking note of everything that is happening across the borders of the state and is happy with their performance.



Patriot Okweche, while addressing the joint security, emphasized that the war against the spread of coronavirus to our dear state that has kept the Super-Digital Governor of the most beautiful and secured state sleepless is paramount at the moment.
He further warned against compromise and reminded personnel that whatever they do at night or in the day is seen by ALMIGHTY GOD and shall be rewarded accordingly. The first thing that brings about unmerited reward in any endeavor is passion he added.



I love my job that it matters most to me more than anything else, I drove in after an hour and a half intensive radio interviews in Calabar and because the Governor is not sleeping why should I have the luxury of going to my house he summited.



Okweche concluded while addressing officers that there should be cohesion amongst the Police, Peace Corps and Vigilante otherwise if they fail, generation yet unborn may not forgive them, stressing that the state government has put in so much and is ready to do more for the safety of everyone.
