FAMILY MATTERS

Family matters or like "family matter" (pidgin) 

Whichever, Family is the best social circle.

Staying alone this period was what most of thought could be better,

Trying to server the usual life cycle. 

For reasons like:

Too disciplined parents for some,

Always fighting parents for others,

Annoying siblings to manage and the "amebo" Aunty to ignore,

That could be your family circle.

Too emotional parents for some,

Always protecting and concerned parents for others,

Over pampered, spoilt and somehow sweet siblings to enjoy

And the "paddy paddy" Uncle to gist with,

That could also be your family circle.

Maybe a reverse of both family is yours.

Caught in the middle with no other option than to take sides,

Choosing favorite siblings and having a particular parent you hate.

Disliking one cousin  and taking pleasure in one niece 

Or maybe everyone looks like an alien to you,

That could still be your family

Or maybe you're just like Westlife -A black sheep of the family,

You're everyone's headache.

They organize a Thanksgiving service when you step out

And a Solem assembly when you return

And you're convinced that nobody loves you

You start fasting and praying for when you'll finally leave them

How about us that don't even have a family?

We are our Father, mother, brother and sister

The street is our only family 

Or wherever we see a roof we call it a home.

Thank God for this Covid-19 period

Where some will decipher if Family matters

Or if they're facing "family matter" 

( pidgin).

For me,  I've learnt that family matters 

No matter how long you stay away from home,

No matter the distance you keep away from family.

My mum always say "bad person,nah person get am" ( A bad person is someone's own).

You'll always miss those who showered you with love

But you'll miss most, those who made you cry.
